Introduction of Telemedicine: Telemedicine is a platform bringing the Specialists, Physicians, Para-Medical staff and Patients together with a seamless exchange of Medical Data and Specialty Advise needed amongst the group for an instant and better Health Care. The telemedicine system is using the computers connecting to medical devices and transferring data through any communication media to the specialty doctors to get expert opinion. The access is a Highly Secure and Reliable system protecting the interest of Patients. The communication link with a reasonable bandwidth connects people physically existing at different geographical locations on telemedicine platform. The people/patients usually are present at District Hospitals, Taluka Level Hospitals, Public Health Centers (PHCs) & Private Clinics can utilize the telemedicine system from these locations to get the emergency care and expert opinion. A typical Telemedicine Network consists of a Super Specialty Hospital (SSH) connected with a group of medium and small hospitals/ clinics for specialty advice. This kind of solution consists of a Telemedicine System at a SSH and the remote/rural hospitals transfer the medical data of the patients to the SSH. This transferred data contains demographic and history of patient along with medical data being ECG, X-rays, CT Scans, and Microscopic Slides provided to the Specialist through the system. This data is accessed and evaluated by Specialists in providing the advice to Physicians or Patient in the case. All this is possible from any geographical location over any kind of communication media eliminating time and distance barriers, resulting in an instant and accessible Critical Care. |
